WinNT Control: Select Server

WinNT Control is used to start and stop Microsoft Windows NT Services and Servers within a Microsoft Windows Network.

To control a Windows NT workstation or server you must either select it from the "Network List" or type in the NetBIOS name. If you don't have the name you can substitute the NetBIOS name with the primary IP Address of the machine.

After providing this information ipMonitor will interrogate the machine and display a state report of all the services.

From this report you can:

  1. Start a service by clicking a linked service name that has a "Red" indicator.
  2. Stop a service by selecting a linked service name that has a "Green" indicator.
  3. Reboot the selected computer (if previously enabled).
For security reasons the WinNT Control option is only available to administrator accounts.
