Reports Overview
< BackIndexNext >

Even when things appear to be running smoothly, it's reassuring to have visual confirmation. A Report is a summary of data for a specific time period. Reports allow you to view the daily, weekly, monthly or yearly analysis of monitored resources. These invaluable reports may then be viewed in the web interface or emailed to network administrators, managers or clients as a supplement for Service Level Agreements.

The "Add Report" Wizard asks for various information about the kind of report you want to create, then asks you to pick which Monitor or Group to get the network data from. Although these pre-configured reports are feature rich, they do not cover all the available options. After creating a report, we recommend customizing the report to:

  1. Remove redundant introduction headers
  2. Hide long data charts
  3. Use the "Directly insert HTML Code" building block (report cell) to include disclaimers, corporate logos, and service level agreement information
  4. Add supplemental graphs, charts, and summaries for different time periods (or Monitors and/or Groups)

Note:  Adding Graphs and summaries for the past year is performed through customization of the report

Statistics are weighted to reflect a value’s statistical significance for a reporting period. This prevents any one or significantly small amount of values from skewing results and giving false indications.
