ipMonitor uses both external and local TCP/IP Ports to probe and receive responses from servers, equipment and Services it is monitoring.

TELNET Remote Terminal Protocol. 23 TCP Tests the ability of a TCP/IP based service to accept incoming sessions and its responsiveness.
WHOIS Who Is Information Server. 43 TCP Tests the availability and responsiveness of a WHOIS service.

Local ports used by ipMonitor:

HTTP Port default 8080 (or administrator assigned).

Local requests Ports 1024 - 4000.

Note: ipMonitor machine will use a random port number from 1024-4000 to originate any TCP or UDP sessions.
