The FILE Monitor is designed to watch the growth of a log file or database. Whenever growth occurs it may be desirable to notify an administrator or start a recovery script to handle the event.

Note: If the file size changes to zero, an alert can be triggered, only if "Notify if file size is Zero" is enabled.

This Monitor:

• Persistently tests the resource at specified intervals.
• Disallows testing during a maintenance period.
• Has a placeholder for a WinNT Service Name or any other information required by a recovery script.
